The day starts inside the stone walls of Óbidos, one of Portugal's Seven Wonders, and ends on the cobbled streets of Porto's UNESCO-listed Old Town, well north on the Douro River, with Nazaré's wave-scarred headland in between. A private guide travels the whole route with you, setting the pace at each stop rather than following a shared coach's fixed timings. It suits travelers based in Lisbon for their trip who still want to reach Porto and the central coast, without changing hotels or adding a night away from their base. HOW IT RUNS

Fitting Óbidos, Nazaré, and Porto into one day means several hours of driving between stops that aren't near each other. Your guide stays with you the entire way, from pickup at your central Lisbon hotel through all three destinations, so you're not handed off between a driver and separate local guides at each stop.

Hotel Pickup, Lisbon 

Private pickup from your hotel in central Lisbon starts the day; no separate meeting point to locate before a 12-hour drive.

 

Óbidos 

A guided walk through the walled town covers Rua Direita, the former Jewish quarter, and Óbidos Castle. The route stays inside the compact walled core, so you see the essential parts without backtracking, with the rest of the day still ahead.

 

Nazaré

The drive continues up the coast. At the Sítio headland, your guide takes you to Forte de São Miguel and the viewpoint above the beach known for the biggest waves ever surfed, without needing a separate coastal day trip to see it.

 

Porto

The longest drive of the day ends here, where a private, guided 1.5-hour walking tour covers the UNESCO-listed Old Town: Igreja do Carmo, Estação de São Bento, Igreja de São Francisco, and Ponte Dom Luís I. Lunch is on your own in Porto, not included, so you choose where and what to eat.

 

Return to Lisbon

The drive returns south, closing out the day back at your hotel, no separate drop-off point to arrange.

  • Walking level: Cobbled streets and some inclines in Óbidos and Nazaré's Sítio district; Porto's Old Town walking tour covers hilly streets down toward the Douro riverfront.

  • What to bring: Comfortable walking shoes recommended, the day includes guided walks in three different towns.

  • Best time to visit: Nazaré's largest waves typically break between October and March; outside that window the coast is calmer but still worth the stop.

An optional cancellation insurance is available during booking, allowing cancellation up to 48 hours before departure for a full refund (excluding tickets where applicable). Operator cancellations due to weather or unforeseen circumstances are fully refundable. No-shows will be charged the full price.
