HOW IT RUNS

A long day with an early start and the train doing the heavy lifting — thirteen hours door to door, with the Barcelona portion on foot at a guided pace and a lunch break at Plaza Cataluña.

The Train to Barcelona -Your day starts early in Madrid. You'll travel independently on the AVE high-speed train, with tickets and boarding instructions provided in advance. In just over two hours, Spain's capital gives way to Barcelona's Mediterranean skyline.

 

Meeting Your Guide - On arrival, your specialized local guide meets you at the station and takes over from there. No searching for meeting points, no figuring out transport — the Barcelona portion begins immediately.

Barcelona's Historic Core - The day unfolds on foot, starting around Plaça d’Espanya before heading toward the harbor and the Columbus Monument. From there, you enter the Gothic Quarter, where Roman foundations, medieval streets, and centuries of city history sit within a few compact blocks.

Gaudí and the Modern City - After a break for lunch around Plaça de Catalunya, continue along Passeig de Gràcia. Here, your guide puts Barcelona's Modernisme movement into context through two of Gaudí's most recognizable works: Casa Batlló and La Pedrera.

The Sagrada Família - The route concludes at La Sagrada Família, where you'll have free time around Gaudí's most ambitious project. If requested in advance, interior entry tickets can be arranged to make the most of this final stop.

 

Return to Madrid - Your guide accompanies you back to the station for the return AVE service. By evening, you'll be back in Madrid having spent the day inside a city many travelers dedicate an entire trip to seeing.

Cancellation Policy

Free cancellation up to 7 days before the scheduled date (excluding monument/attraction tickets, which are non-refundable). An optional cancellation insurance is available during booking, allowing cancellation up to 48 hours before departure for a full refund (excluding tickets where applicable).

Operator cancellations due to weather or unforeseen circumstances are fully refundable. No-shows will be charged the full price.
