A hot-air balloon flight over Montserrat's massif, the one angle a ground-based visit doesn't offer, followed by a private day at the monastery. Champagne at altitude, then La Moreneta and, some days, the boys' choir inside the basilica.

 

Lift off from a flying zone near the mountain, champagne poured somewhere over the valley below, before the massif spreads out beneath the basket. The flight is shared with other balloon passengers, but everything else about the day is private. After landing, a 4WD returns you to base and the Aeri cable car carries you up to the monastery, where La Moreneta waits inside the basilica. For travelers who'd rather see a place from more than one angle before deciding they know it.

How It Runs

The day splits in two: airborne at sunrise, then grounded and unhurried once the cable car reaches the monastery. Launch times shift with the weather, so pickup varies by season.

Pickup & Montserrat flying zone

Private transport collects you in Barcelona and drives to the launch field near the mountain, where you board a hot-air balloon shared with other passengers.

In flight

A toast is poured mid-flight, somewhere over the valley below.

Landing & 4WD transfer

A 4WD support vehicle recovers the group after landing and returns you to the starting point, where your private transport is waiting.

Aeri cable car

The historic cable car, in operation since 1930, carries you up to the monastery in a few minutes. No drive, no hike.

Montserrat Monastery

Inside the basilica, La Moreneta (the Black Madonna) when accessible, and on select weekdays around 1pm, the Escolania boys' choir singing the Virolai. Your guide accompanies you throughout.

Cancellation Policy

Free cancellation up to 7 days before the scheduled date (excluding monument/attraction tickets, which are non-refundable). An optional cancellation insurance is available during booking, allowing cancellation up to 48 hours before departure for a full refund (excluding tickets where applicable). Operator cancellations due to weather or unforeseen circumstances are fully refundable. No-shows will be charged the full price.
