Private Day Tour from Barcelona: Hot-Air Balloon Over Montserrat, Then the Monastery
A rare pairing for one day: a shared hot-air balloon flight, and an entirely private day built around it.
A rare pairing for one day: a shared hot-air balloon flight, and an entirely private day built around it.
A hot-air balloon flight over Montserrat's massif, the one angle a ground-based visit doesn't offer, followed by a private day at the monastery. Champagne at altitude, then La Moreneta and, some days, the boys' choir inside the basilica.
Lift off from a flying zone near the mountain, champagne poured somewhere over the valley below, before the massif spreads out beneath the basket. The flight is shared with other balloon passengers, but everything else about the day is private. After landing, a 4WD returns you to base and the Aeri cable car carries you up to the monastery, where La Moreneta waits inside the basilica. For travelers who'd rather see a place from more than one angle before deciding they know it.
By the time the coaches are still climbing, you'll already be above them.
A hot-air balloon flight over the Montserrat massif, with the peaks rearranging themselves beneath you. An angle no cable car or hiking trail reaches.
A toast poured mid-flight, altitude included.
The historic Aeri cable car, running since 1930, carries you up to the monastery after a 4WD recovers you from the landing site.
Inside the basilica, La Moreneta when accessible, and on the right days, the boys' choir singing the Virolai.
The flight is shared with other passengers; the transport, guide, and schedule around it are private to your group.
Add-ons that turn the day into an occasion, like a florist-dressed basket for a proposal (the secret kept until liftoff).
