Barcelona's Gothic Quarter and El Born, Private Walking Tour with Santa Maria del Mar Tower Access
This walk connects Roman foundations, medieval streets, and El Born's buried ruins into one continuous story, not a list of separate stops.

Roman foundations, medieval streets, and a staircase inside Santa Maria del Mar that most visitors never find, on a private walk through the Gothic Quarter and El Born. Four hours, at your own pace.
Barcelona's Gothic Quarter and El Born sit on two thousand years of continuous habitation — Roman foundations under medieval streets, a neighborhood demolished by royal decree in 1714, and a 14th-century basilica raised by hand from the beach. This private walk follows that sequence in order, closing inside Santa Maria del Mar's towers, up a staircase that doesn't appear on most city maps. It suits those who'd rather spend four hours understanding one city thoroughly than covering three in a rush.
The towers close the walk on purpose: three hours of Roman, medieval, and Gothic layers make the view from up there land differently than it would on its own.
Tower access at Santa Maria del Mar that doesn't appear on most city maps — the view over El Born's rooftops most visitors never see.
A guide who explains why the basilica's proportions shouldn't have been possible in the 14th century, and what the ruins under the Born Cultural Center actually reveal.

The sequence below is the base itinerary. Your guide may adapt the order depending on the time of day and the rhythm of the group, what doesn't change is the depth, the tower access, and the fact that you're the only group.
