HOW IT RUNS

Sintra, Cascais, and Belém don't sit on one train line, reaching all three independently means a train to Sintra, a bus or taxi on to Cascais, then doubling back through Lisbon to reach Belém. Here, one guide and one private vehicle cover the same ground directly, with entry to Pena Palace already arranged before you set off.

Hotel Pickup  

Your guide and driver meet you at your hotel in central Lisbon in a private vehicle for the day. There's no meeting point to find or group to join before setting off.

Sintra · Pena Palace 

The drive climbs into the Sintra hills, where entrance to the 19th-century Romanticist palace, built for King Ferdinand II, is already arranged. Your guide walks the terraces and interior rooms with you before the drive continues toward the coast.

Cascais 

From Sintra, the route reaches Cascais, a former royal summer retreat turned working fishing town. Your guide takes you through the marina, the 17th-century citadel, and the old town streets before continuing on.

Belém 

The final stop sits where the Tagus meets the Atlantic: the Jerónimos Monastery, built to mark Vasco da Gama's route to India, and the Belém Tower nearby. Your guide covers the history of both before the drive back into the city.

Return 

Drop-off follows directly at your Lisbon hotel, with no further stops. The day runs about eight hours door to door.

Operator cancellations due to weather or unforeseen circumstances are fully refundable. No-shows will be charged the full price.
