Belém gave Lisbon both its skyline and its most famous pastry, the pastel de nata, born a few streets from where you'll bake it. This private half-day pairs the two: the landmarks that built Portugal's Age of Discoveries, and the hands-on craft behind a pastry everyone recognizes but few have made themselves. HOW IT RUNS

The workshop runs on a fixed start time, which normally means timing a landmark walk to the minute so you're not late. Here your guide paces the walk around that slot, and a private vehicle handles the transfer, so the clock stays their problem, not yours.

Hotel Pickup

Your guide and driver collect you at your Lisbon hotel and drive you to Belém.

 

Torre de Belém, Bom Sucesso Dock & Monument to the Discoveries

Walking the riverfront with your guide, you see where Portugal's 15th- and 16th-century voyages were launched and provisioned, with the history explained as you pass each site rather than read off a plaque. Exteriors only, so there's no ticket line to plan around.

 

Jerónimos Monastery

The walk ends at the monastery built to mark the same voyages, again from the outside.

 

Pastéis de Belém Workshop

Private transport takes you to the workshop in time for your slot, where you fold, fill, and bake your own pastéis de nata under guidance rather than watching someone else do it, then eat them warm as soon as they come out of the oven.

 

Return to Lisbon

Once the workshop wraps up, the same private transport drops you back at your hotel.

Cancellation Policy

Free cancellation up to 7 days before the scheduled date (excluding monument/attraction tickets, which are non-refundable). An optional cancellation insurance is available during booking, allowing cancellation up to 48 hours before departure for a full refund (excluding tickets where applicable). Operator cancellations due to weather or unforeseen circumstances are fully refundable. No-shows will be charged the full price.
