Bairro Alto's tascas don't really get going until early evening, when the neighborhood empties of daytime shoppers and fills with people ordering petiscos two or three plates at a time. This private walk moves through several of them on foot, tasting Portuguese wine and small plates, with a stop at the roofless nave of the 14th-century Carmo Convent along the way. It suits couples and small groups who'd rather taste a neighborhood in motion than sit through one long dinner, the rooftop terrace, one more pour in hand, comes last.

Your guide picks tascas locals actually use rather than the ones with photos of tourists in the window, adjusting the order if a spot fills up early

Rossio Train Station 

A stop at the station's Neo-Manueline façade, one of Lisbon's most recognizable, on the walk down from Bairro Alto toward Baixa.

 

Convento do Carmo 

The Gothic convent's roofless nave, left exactly as the 1755 earthquake left it — one of Lisbon's clearest reminders of that day.

  • Best time to visit: Bairro Alto's tascas fill up as the evening goes on, and the rooftop finish is timed to catch the change in light, a later start makes the most of it.

Free cancellation up to 7 days before the scheduled date (excluding monument/attraction tickets, which are non-refundable). An optional cancellation insurance is available during booking, allowing cancellation up to 48 hours before departure for a full refund (excluding tickets where applicable). Operator cancellations due to weather or unforeseen circumstances are fully refundable. No-shows will be charged the full price.
