Afternoon (4:30 PM - 7:00 PM): San Juan de Gaztelugatxe: Magic & Legend

Journey to the spectacular coastline to visit San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. While a "must-see," this experience focuses on the location's profound mystique and legendary tales. You will ascend the winding stone path to the hermitage, with ample time for contemplation while taking in the awe-inspiring views of the Cantabrian Sea. (Note: Comfortable footwear and good physical condition are recommended). A powerful moment of connection with wild nature and history, feeling the palpable energy of this sacred place.

Optional Dinner (from 8:30 PM): Haute Cuisine in Bilbao

For the ultimate epicurean highlight, we can arrange a dinner at a Michelin-starred or other haute cuisine restaurant in Bilbao (e.g., Mina, Nerua). Your lunch is a pintxos tasting tour through the heart of the Old Town, visiting 3-4 emblematic bars. A variety of high-quality, famous pintxos will be selected for you to sample. Dive into the world-renowned pintxo culture of San Sebastián. 

Morning (9:00 AM - 1:30 PM): San Sebastián: Coastal Beauty & Elegance

Your private driver will take you on the scenic route to San Sebastián. Upon arrival, your local guide will lead you on a walking tour through the city’s charming Parte Vieja (Old Town), along the iconic crescent of La Concha beach, and to Chillida's magnificent "Peine del Viento" (Comb of the Wind)sculpture. The tour focuses on the city's Belle Époque elegance, its relationship with the sea, and its celebrated public art. Capture the essence of one of Spain's most beautiful cities, with time to admire its views and soak in its sophisticated atmosphere.

Afternoon (3:30 PM - 6:30 PM): The Traditional Cider House Experience

We will drive to the nearby hills of Astigarraga or Hernani, the heart of Basque cider country. Here, you'll receive a guided tour of a traditional sagardotegi (cider house), learning the cider-making process. The visit culminates in the "txotx" ritual, where you'll taste cider poured directly from the enormous barrels (kupelas), accompanied by the traditional cider house menu: salt cod omelet, fried cod with peppers, a massive flame-grilled txuleta (T-bone steak), and a dessert of local cheese, quince paste, and walnuts. An authentic, lively, and delicious immersion into a cornerstone of Basque rural and gastronomic culture.

Evening (Your Choice): San Sebastián by Night or Return to Bilbao

Option 1: Remain in San Sebastián for the evening to dine at your leisure (we will provide recommendations) and enjoy the city's nightlife, with your private driver returning you to your Bilbao hotel later in the evening.

Option 2: Return to Bilbao directly after the cider house experience to enjoy a more informal dinner or a relaxing evening at your hotel.

Enjoy a final immersion with a visit to La Ribera Market in Bilbao, one of the largest covered markets in Europe. Stroll through its vibrant stalls of fresh produce, cheeses, cured meats, and local specialties. This is the perfect chance to enjoy a coffee amongst locals or purchase some edible souvenirs. A last, authentic contact with the rich gastronomic life of the Basque Country.
